Obiettivo del progetto è sostituire l’edificio esistente, estremamente visibile dalle valli circostanti, con un nuova costruzione ad alta efficienza energetica da destinare a centro di ricerca sulla biodiversità e la sostenibilità ambientale. Il nuovo volume si sviluppa come un corrugamento del terreno e la copertura accentua l’andamento naturale del crinale. All’interno trovano spazio laboratori scientifici, un ostello, l’abitazione del custode, spazi museali e didattici, e nel foyer, che si apre come una grotta verso i due versanti, un bar/ritorante.
The target is to replace the existing building, visible from the surrounding valleys, with a new high energy efficiency building to be used as a research center on biodiversity and environmental sustainability. This new volume grows like a little hill and the roof underline the natural course of the ridge. Inside there are scientific laboratories, hostel, the caretaker's home, museum and educational areas, and in the foyer, which opens like a cave towards valley sides, a bar / restaurant.
